How do I swithc from gnome tot kde

if i am correct, i installed both kde and gnome on my system during installation but chose gnome as standard..
I'd like to try KDE now but...
i recall from an earlier linux-attempt, yeeaaaars ago (redhat 5.x?) that in kde there was a swithcer-applic .. but i can't find any in this version fo gnome .. (suse 9.2) but i might be looking in the wrong places offcourse.

and how can i c if I installed the kde-files correctly?

I am a complete noob , so be gentle with me ;) but willing to try everything... on linux!!!
(command line? *sweat* , I'll do it .. eager to learn .... starting some evening-linux-school in a few weeks, YEAH)

shoot!

Hope this helps.....

Hey,

I've never used Suse before but am responding based on my experience on RedHat. In RedHat, when you hit Alt+F1, the "Start Menu" pops up. One of the tabs is Preferences. In Prefs, you should have a tab that reads Desktop Configuration Tool or something similar. Thats the place where you can set the Icon styles, Wallpapers, yada yada yada and of course the Window manager that you want to use. This is what worked for me in RedHat and Fedora, both.

Hope it helps.

Cheers,

Alt + F1 does make pop up a menu but I don't think that it is the same as in your Redhat-linux.
anyway, i found the solution.. it was offcourse very simple: a simple restart an then changing options on login.

I must say, Gnome looked nicer to me :)

I hope it stays that way cause FC1 gave me some problems initially. I did select KDE as the Desktop Envir at the login screen but the damn thing used to default to Gnome on subsequent logins. I found that changing it the way I mentioned above fixed it for good. ;)

Anyways....whatever works...works...
