Arrow how do i set up apache??

I heard goot things about apache. i have a domain name, and a website that im working on. i would like to use apache as a web server instead of paying $ every month to someone to host my site. can someone tell me the necessary steps to confirgue apache.

what should put in the server name space?
any advise will be appreciated

I'd probably suggest to start off by reading the docs and manuals at

And for the servername, well, if you have your own domain name, you'd want to place that there. But remember, setting up your own domain on your own server, you need a DNS server too so it knows where to find it when it translates from name to IP, etc.

You can use free DNS services like if you don't want to set your own up, etc.
