got to a terminal and type


where USERNAME is the user to run the program as (note: it will prompt you for a password)

It's easy to do in kde if you know how to make a desktop link to an application. In the program tab that sets up the link, tick on the advanced button and you have the option to set the link up to run as a different user. Enter the user name you want and then afterwards, every time you click on the link, you'll be prompted for the user's password before the app is launched.
