How do I remove the messages at the login?

Hello. This is my first day with Linux (Slackware). I want to remove the messages that pop up everytime I login. I've searched for login messages, quotes, etc. I can't find any info. on removing these.
Thank You.

You want to say no to fortune cookies? As root at terminal or cli try 'chmod -x /etc/profile.d/'--without ' marks. Happy slacking

You could also uninstall the bsd-games package (or fortune on other distros).

Thank You for your suggestions re: how to remove the messages (fortunes) at login. I removed the BSD Games package and voila - no more fortunes. Thank You for keeping it simple.
Cheers! Carol
