Hello ,
I am a student in college and was allotted a Linux Desktop in college . I also have Windows/Linux running om my laptop . My hostel and campus are well connected via intranet . So all i need is to get complete access to my campus computer from my laptop , including internet . We use proxy connection to connect to internet . Is there any way so that i can use my campus computers network from my hostel . P.S. : They close internet connection in hostel after 2:00 am but Still internet works on my college computer ! All i need is to use internet in hostel after 2:00 am using college computer's connection . Is there any way ? |
Ask the IT department.
Kind regards |
Is this the Best you suggest ?

Since they own the network, they can help you to achieve what you want.
Kind regards |
Oh no no , they themselves block internet in hostels after 2:00 am , don't know why . But they allow internet in college computer . That's why i wanted remote access to run internet after 2:00 am

Again talk to the IT people, there is a reason why they setup these rules.
Kind regards |
Well , I used "gproxy" to drag internet connectoin of lab to my hostel . (Gproxy need Java installation first)
It was much easier than my thought . If anyone need help in finding gproxy , contact me . And no need to beg those IT persons ! Ubuntu's default remote desktop works great ! |
