how do i produce an alias for xterm?

ok what I'm trying to do is make xterm open with a blue backround and have white text,but I do not know where to start I think first I need a script file to set xterm at start up? and how do i run the alias in xterm?

mkdir ~/bin
echo '#!/bin/sh' > ~/bin/xterm
echo 'xterm -bg blue -fg white' >> ~/bin/xterm
chmod +x ~/bin/xterm
echo '$PATH=~/bin:$PATH' >> ~/.bashrc
Maybe this is what you want.
