java problems

i seem to be having trouble installing a bin file i need to get another program running(the bin i want is java). could someone help me out as i am at a loss.

post 2:using the same topic, i shall make a new topic. so hear is my Q:

i am trying to install java JRE 1.5 so that i can use azurues or whatever it is for bit torrent. and i got both files ready. cept i dont think java is in the right place because az isnt detecting it. can someone help me?

bin are just binary files, usually made to just run from the command line or double clicked.

cd /to/directory/its/stored/in/


Make sure its executable though or you'll get errors.

chmod +x name-of-bin.bin

heh...thanks....still getting used to this typed format. so used to windows. but i will prevail!!
