That's absolutely correct. I believe the problem with this came in when people started trying to suggest ways to write to an ntfs partition after you mentioned your external had only one ntfs partition. This was irrelevant to what you wanted to do.
The most likely reason no one mentioned escaping the space in The FreeAgent Drive label is that it isn't even mentioned in any of your posts until post 84. Prior to that, we were dealing with the partition as /mnt/sda11 and its original auto-mounted mount point you posted in your post # 15 as:

The first responder to your thread in post two mentions that in Ubuntu, your hard drive partitions should be auto-mounted and we found later that they were. The method you used is one way to copy of several available. It's a combination of your not being familiar with what you were trying to do and people getting off topic. Anyhow, you've got it done now.
For anyone who reads through this enormous thread, mansours' solution in post 90 is a solution to half his originally stated problem. Post 90 shows one way to copy folders/files back from the external to the internal drive. |
