What do you want from your webserver? Do you want it to deal with HTTP? FTP? Email?

HERE a bunch of Apache stuff
Quick LAMP howto
Linux - Apache - MySQL - PHP
what is lamp?
another quick lamp howto

all kinds of pretty docs for you to read ;-)
at least read this stuff, and attempt to do it, and then when you get caught at some steps then ask questions .... its easier to try and fail and ask questions, then it is to just ask questions about general things ...

and when it says you have to "write" things, you will be typing that stuff at the command line ....

First you need to go to /etc/httpd/conf/ and edit the file httpd.conf (this is the Apache server configuration). Then you must locate php.ini and configure that as well. Actually you do not need to configure a lot in php.ini, just the Session directory, so you can use sessions in PHP. There is nothing you need to configure for mysql. All you need to do then is go to the Main menu under System settings --> Server settings --> Services and enable(start) httpd, mysqld and/or vsftpd. Httpd will start Apache (HTTP and PHP), mysqld wil start MySQL and vsftpd will start FTP services.

Well you're up and running if you did all to here. You can edit the /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf file to set things for FTP server as well.

Hope this helped.
