How do I Make a Boot Disk?

Hey everybody,

How do I make my Boot disk work?

This is my first day looking at Fedora. So far everything has been easy to walk through. I have been to the threads that talk about making the disk so that it has multiple files on it. Mine only has the one iso file. I am using DVD, and have downloaded x86_64 for my empty Comp with AMD Athlon 64. Please let me know if I am using the right image.

I think I know what you're talking about. Let's see if this right:
you downloaded the .iso file and used your windows box to burn that single file to the DVD, right?
If so, continue reading.
The .iso is a "disk image" file. It represents the entire DVD, so you need to use a burning program that can deal with this kind of data. Poke around in your software and see if there is a "burn image to disc" option. You will then have to select the .iso on your hard drive and tell the burner to do its thing.
Alternately, you may have done this correctly, but you need to remember to change the BIOS to boot from your new disc.

Thanks for the help. It worked perfectly. To any newbies having the same issue, I downloaded Active ISO Burner from cnet for free. It was very simple to use. Thanks again for the quick reply. I am very impressed with the support.
