How do I lock the computer?

Sorry if I posted this before (can't remember). How do I lock the pc (like in Windows) if I need to leave it for a while?

Install or use xlock. Most standard distributions come with it by default. Check your control panel in whatever Desktop/WindowManager your using, usually under the screensaver section, etc.

For this to work, I think xscreensaver should already be running.

KDE has an option in the menu for locking the screen, right above the logout icon.
