How do I know what print manager I'm using?

I'm using RedHat 9, and I am not sure what print manager is handling the print jobs. I primarily print from KDE, and my printer is cussing at me (printing garbage) as if I am using the wrong driver. How do I know what print manager (IE: CUPS, POSIX, etc.) is handling the jobs when I print? I have done some changes in CUPS that has done nothing for me. I'm starting to think that CUPS isn't the print manager that I need to mess with.

Thanks. It a appears that I'm using CUPS, but my printer still cusses at me though I am using the correct driver. Think a laser printer with 1.5MB in it could affect how it prints when the printer the driver was written for (same model) had a 4MB expansion module in it?
