Question How do I IRC via command line?


How do I connect to an IRC address via a linux comand line? Thanks in advance.

BitchX is also another good colsole chat cliuent

irssi is IMHO the best IRC client. BitchX is, to me, a bit...errr...too messy.

Thanks everyone! I'll try these. What are some commands? Like to login to a server, etc.

/server irc.whatever.net - logon to an irc server
/join #chan_name - join a channel
/quit - disconnect and exit irc
/msg NICKNAME message - send private message to NICKNAME
/part #chan_name - leave a channel, but dont disconnect

thses should get you started
