On suse, you have to extract the whole thing, open a terminal and do ./configure, make and make install.
If you have no idea what the heck i'm talking about, post again and we'll go through all the details.
i dont get the ./configure make and make thing i just dont get why it should be so hard to get a printer working not to mention my sound, my graphics my wireless and so on
it rconizes it but it wont print i dot have a clue what to do i have searched for help but dont understand what to do the printer is not listed in Suse printer list
Ok, friend,
Just unpack the file .tar.gz. In kde's konqueror you can click the right button and choose Actions > unpack here. This will create a new dir, which is the source tree of your printer driver. The dir should be called some like "driver.gimp-print-5.0.0-beta1".
Now, open a console. Go to that dir and see if there are the files readme or install. These files should give you info on how to do things. These commands below are quite standard, and should compile and installl your driver, with minimal effort.
Issue the command:
./configure
then
make
then su to root and do:
make install
