modify your BIOS boot order to promote CD to bootable before HD

First, make sure you burned an "image" of the .iso and not just transferred the files. Second, make sure your PC is set to boot (in your BIOS) from CD first, followed by your hard drive.

1. Burn ur mandrake in iso. (burn image)
2. setup bios to boot from cd rom ( Not from floppy or hard disk )
3. and then ..just follow the instructions
4. when making the partitions.... just click 'auto allocate'

I am an extreme n00b at this stuff. They weren't in ISO, I dl'ed them as bittorrents and they were just folders. I burned each folder to its respective cd. I did all the above and it hssn't worked.

If they were just folders then the disk is not bootable. You can create a bootable floppy disk using the apps in the disutil and image directories located on the 1st CD.
