First of all, welcome to LQ. Glad you were able to join us.

With only 128Mb ram, I'm gonna say one of the lightweight distributions like Puppy would work. Your Nova has 3 USB ports so download a copy of flash-puppy, http://www.puppylinux.com/flash-puppy.htm onto a pen drive and stick in in and try it out.

Please come back and tell us how you made out with the Nova and whatever OS you put on there.

I still havent figured out how to install a linux distro on this thing. I have tried all sorts of things to get one to boot. I am guessing the company has this thing on lockdown for a newb like me. Hope someone will stop by and lend a hand if they know of anything.

I am a linux fan with a Nova5000 myself, in fact I am posting with it right now. I thought about trying to do the same but after taking it rt, i thinko comes out wneome it is a lost cause the system is contained in a sort of jump drive that is soldered iinto an USB port inside the machine. problem, as far as I can tell there are other requred components on that jump drive so swaping with larger containing Linux will probably not work - take one apart and see for yourself

I have taken mine apart and saw what you are talking about. In mine it has the wireless receiver plugged into it. Maybe you are on to something though. Is it possible that that is the slot to run an alternate OS? I may try to tinker with it some this week and see if I cant get it to boot LINUX.

Thanks rokytnji, i wish i could understand all of that stuff though. It looks like it applies to what i am trying to do but is way over my head. I may have started a project that i myself will not be able to do.
