How do I get xubuntu 8.04 to detect my trendnet tew-421pc wireless card?

I am a newbie to computers and I am trying to get my wireless Trendnet pc card to work on xubuntu 8.04. I cannot get xubuntu to detect the tew-421pc wireless card. I am on a dell latitude cpx laptop computer with a p3 prossor, 256 memory, 20 gig hd. The wireless card is a tew-421pc Trendnet Ieee 802.11g/ 2.4 GHz, 54Mbps wireless LAN. I have tried several Ideas to no success. Can anybody help me in basic terms how to get this wireless card to work? Appreciate very much any help. Thank you.
