how do i get permissions to my hard disk partition


i formatted my hard disk but when i try to copy anything on one of the partitions, there is a notice that access has been denied,so what do i do

After mounting the partition at "/mountpoint", as root

Code:
chmod a+wx /mountpoint
If this does not work please tell us how you mounted the partition. Eg the entry in /etc/fstab
