how do I get on a wireless connection from knoppix?

Windows automatically connects with an unprotected wireless network, but while on Knoppix I have not been able to do it? I have 3.4

We will need more information in order to solve your problems with Knoppix. First, what's the output of "ifconfig"? This will allow us to see if your wireless card is recognized as an interface. What's the output of "lspci"? This is another test to see if Knoppix recognizes your wireless card. Also, what kind of card is this? There is a chance that your wireless card is not supported natively under linux and requires another program called NDISWRAPPER. Post back the results and we'll move on from there.
