How do I get normal windows?
 

Whenever I start Fedora and type startkde I get nothing but green windows, they cant minimize nor close. I was wondering how to get normal windows.

That doesn't sound right ... what do you see in /var/log/XFree86.0.log
( or Xorg.0.log if FC has X.org). Also check ~/.xsession-errors.

I had the same problem when I first installed FC3 with KDE. For some reason, it starts you with icewm or some other desktop enviornment than I (though) had been asked for. If what Tinkster suggests doesn't work, try issuing the the command Then I'd try startx, and you should have kde start up for you.

Sounds like TWM Tab Window Manager is what you were in.
