How Do I Format A Floppy?
I'm using Slackware 10.0
|
fdisk /dev/fd0
I think (?) |
depends if you want a dos or ext2 floppy. if you have gnome or kde installed use the floppy format prog. search for it in the menus or try
mkdosfs -F 12 /dev/fd0 |
Using fdisk for a floppy is wrong. fdisk is an utility that makes partitions on hard drives, zip, jaz, and loop devices.
|
I've used it. =(

If you have KDE or Gnome, you should have something like "Floppy Formatter" in the menu somewhere. It does the thing for you.
Otherwise, use mkfs. |
