Wink How do I find my downloads and run them once I have downloaded them?

Hello I am very new to linux having received an Acer Aspire One with Linux OS for Christmas this year and to this forum.

I am pretty adept at using windows OS for both work and personal use, so I am currently in frustrating potty training mode with Linux. I aim to persit though and to become as adept with Linux as I am with Windows.

First things first though - I would like to know how to personalise and pretty up the appearence of my system, I am missing my windows control panel, and where to find my downloads once I have downloaded them and how to run them.

I appreciate any help that anyone can give me.

Yours sincerely - Pipplington.

Downloading with Firefox defaults to the desktop. If you want to change that behaviour go to: Edit--> Preferences--> General.

This link will help you to 'pimp' your Aspire One:
