How do I find and manage ttyACM1

Hi everybody,
I am working with Ubuntu in VirtualBox. The host is windows 7. I am using it to build YOCTO for my ZedBoard, and I need to use a serial port.
At first I had troubles to configure the serial port in windows, then i succeded, it works but now i cannot see it in Ubuntu, it doesn't exist.
I used minicom as suggested by tutorials but I can see the ttyS[0123] only, shown unconnected.
What can I do?
I hope my question seems meaningfull, since i am a beginner.
Please let me know

Thanks
Marina

I have used VirtualBox myself, though I do not remember having an option to pass serial ports to the guest OS. USB - yes. You may need to use an USB to serial converter.
