How do I edit menu.lst in windows notepad?
I downloaded Grub4DOS and tried to edit the default menu.lst but it's all on one line and has a bunch of blocks □□□ between the commands. How do I properly edit this file in windows?

Try to edit it in wordpad instead of notepad. |
rename it menu.list.txt. This will make it a text doc then you right click on it and click "open with" then select MS Word, or Work what ever you have and you will be able to see it the way that you would like.
when you are done just rename the file with out the .txt and it will be back to normal if this helped you out please click the "thanks" button on the bottom right hand corner of my box |
open with Wordpad, Notepad++, Gvim.
notepad it's just too limited, it doesn't like the LF char used as EOL on *nix. |
remove "notepad" from windows ( man that thing is OLD and useless )
and install SciTe http://www.scintilla.org/SciTE.html ps with notepad you CAN NOT edit "boot.ini" with scite you can |
I must be missing something here, why are we editing Linux files with Windows programs?
