How do I do this

Hi
I am very new to Linux.
I installed Slackware 8.1. It is booting fine.
I would like to know how to install programmes in Slackware.
for example I have a firewall program Sentry on a CDRom and Ncureses programme on floppy disk. Please explain how to install and run these programmes. Please explain in detail then only I can follow. Please keep in mind I am a Linux baby

Have you visited Linux Documentation Project? They have several guides for those just starting out in Linux. These will have lots of information you may find useful.

Also, on www.slackware.com under their Distribution FAQs they explain how to install and remove software on your Slack system. No reason to retype it.
