Question How do I disable certain hardware in linux?


I have two network cards, one of them is not plugged in at the moment. At system startup, it stops at eth1 for a long time before annoucing it's not plugged in, how do I stop that?

well that's presuambly trying to load via dhcp. you could disable the card, but you don't need to. jsut tell the system not to load that network when it boots up. open /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1 and set ONBOOT=no
