I wanted to backup all files from my / directory to then gradually replace folders/files in my actual fileststem with original ones to troubleshoot an issue that appears AFTER I reconfigure my desktop enviromant (probably I only needed /etc and /home but I decided to just copy everything "for peace of mind").

I literally used rsync to copy everything that was in my / directory to an external drive with NTFS fileststem on it. I excluded /proc and /mnt directories because with proc rsync crashed and my brain is warping when I try to imagine what happens if I tried to copy /mnt including drive that Im copying everythin to, which is also mounted in there.

Now I can't remove dev usr var run sys folders from the drive I copied them to. I can't remove them with rm -r * command and I can't even remove them from under windows10 because of wierd "filename-size" and "unknown" errors. They are permanently stuck on my drive and I can't think of a way of getting rid of them.

They all take 10 gigs and there is literally no way to remove them. rm -r * returns errors when I try it. I could just format the drive but this is beyond crazy to me why and what is happening.

Is there any way I can clean this up without formatting the drive?

Ok, now it just worked by just going into desktop enviroment and deleting it by "right click remove".
