How do I create background images on a Red Hat 9?

I desire to take an image, overlay a text on that image;then, use it as aackground or text document.Would I use Gimp;then, somehow mount the image to a theme for x-window?If so,how?
I would use a colored background text for various priority rated documents.I would use a yellow background text document with a red cross;and,a blue text, for medical documents[as an example].

Yes, you can use GIMP to put text on images. To then use that image as a desktop background, well, you just have to find the desktop settings for your desktop environment/window manager. I'm not sure how you would use images in text documents, but it would probably help if you told us which software you were using to write said documents.

Also, is there any particular reason you're using Red Hat 9? It's obsolete and no longer supported, so you'd be better off getting a newer distribution.

Finally, I see you've started several other threads that you haven't replied to. Please follow up on those, as people have been trying to help you.
