How do I create a symbolic link?

Hi all,
I downloaded JRE and installed it. But some websites direct me to Sun's website to download it. I have read it in a post under the Software forum that I have to make a symbolic link from Mozilla to /java/jre......./plugins.
How do I do that ?

Thanks.
P.S : In Nautilus, I tried right-clicking on Mozilla folder -> Make Link. It created another directory with "Link to Mozilla". What next? Or am I doing it all wrong in the first place ?

Umm, yeah actually you don't need that link to mozilla Ok so you find the Java plugin on your system and then do:
ln -sf path_to_java_plugin mozilla_plugin_direcotry
Hope this helps!

Great !! it worked !!
But I'd be lying if I said it was smooth sailing.......
I was trying to make sym links to plugin directories - and not to that particular file. As it turned out, there were sym linked directories lying all over the place . Of course, java-vm was not working either.
Eventually, I realized my mistake.
Thanks again for the help.
