How do I configure DNS suffix in Fedora Core 6

I installed Fedora Core 6 and I had to setup a static IP address because there is no dhcp on my LAN segment. I can ping by IP address and by dns name to internet addresses, however on my local LAN I have to use the fully qualified dns name in order for the Fedora box to recognize the remote location.

In Windows 2K I would resolve this using a dns suffix but I don't know how to solve it in Fedora. Can someone help me setup dns suffix on Fedora Core 6?

You should edit /etc/resolv.conf and add as a first line the following:
Code:

domain domain.com
