how do i compile or install these drivers for SANE
im using fedora 7
this is goign to be oen of those "how to use tar cuz im used to rpm posts" i been searching around and i dono how to do it still lol ok so anyway, i have a hp psc all-in-one 2355 i went to the sane-project.org website and downloaded sane-backends-1.0.18.tar.gz after some research, i found out backends are drivers and front ends are programs.. so okay, next is..uhh do i need front ends? i have things like text editors and office-like programs installed, and i want to be able to use my printer and scanner and so on (i haven't even set up my printer as far as i know, i just see these emulated ones that i dono what to do with lol) bah anyway i don't know how to compile. im aware i use the command terminal, and it possible involve using install and make ( and i saw somewhere that it's possible to move all these files around, build a rpm, and launch it to make it easier on me..but heh....easier on me..yeah right lol ) but i'll get there.. lol so how do i get this tar package working? i unpacked all the files and put them into a folder on my /home/username/desktop/hp there's install-sh and some other files with stuff that belongs in the terminal but i dono how to launch it yet. |
