How do i change the default 24bpp setting

I am new to linux and i dont want to try and install Zsnes from src (its supposed to be a pain in the arse). so im using wine with the windows version. when i execute it, it says that it only supports 16 bit or 32 bit color, not 24. is there an easy way to change my color settings from 24 to 32 bit? preferably a graphical setting in kde or gnome, and not editing some ".conf" file somewhere.

You should be able to change it from the System Hardware submenu.
