How do I change startup programs

I would like to know how to change the programs that start up automatically when linux loads. I use mandrake linux 9.1 For windows I type msconfig in run. I would like to know the linux equivalent command.

Do you mena services?

Take a look at "chkconfig":
man chkconfig
