How come I don't have kapm-idled and where do I get it?
Been playing around with Linux for a while but now I'm attempting to make the final push and ditch windows all together. I bought a laptop just for it and using Mandrake 9.2 RC2 everything setup fine, except for the fact that my laptop runs way to hot. It is a Moible Athlon XP 2400 processor.
The thing is, When I was using Win2k it nev er got this hot because the OS issues the halt command and keeps the temps reasonably in check unless I'm playing a game. With Mandrake it doesn't do that. I've read around and found that some people have kapm-idled which does issue the hlt command, but for some reason I don't have it. I've done a lot of searching on the net and the only thing I have been able to find is it i appart of KDE, but I'm running KDE and I don't have it. So, where can I get it, or is there any other software that will do what I need?
Thanks for any help.
