How can using multiple shells benefit in the integration of OS w/in an organization?
 
Hello! I am very new to the world of IT and have a very limited understanding of it and was hoping someone could help me answer the following question: How can multiple shells benefit in the integration of diverse operating systems within organizations? Any ideas would greatly appreciated - Thank you!

That's not a very clear qn; can you give a bit more background... why are you asking?
What do you mean by 'shell'?

Normally I(!) would mean a cmd line interface, but people do sometimes mean a GUI.
There are several types of both.

It is actually a question from my instructor I am trying to figure out how to answer. I believe what he is looking for is possibly security and functionality and I think it would be for either command line or GUI. So, how does using a shell effect or enhance security or functionality? Does that make anymore sense?
