How can I tell the version of XFree86 I have?


I need to know for a driver I'm installing.

Thanks, I knew it'd be something easy. On the website they told me to download a script run it just to find out the version. And it took more words to type the script than that command, let alone DLing it.

Are u installing an ATI GFX card?

Not yet, gotta reinstall slackware (accidentally formatted) then I'll attempt it.

I dont mean to steal your thread sharpie, but its just a quick question and not really off-topic: where can I find decent ATI Radeon 9200 drivers? because the ones in ATI's main webpage dont work for me :P

It took me 2 days to finally get my kernel compiled with the new ATI drivers and still I didn't have any 3D Acceleration, I think it's maybe because I hadn't edited the XF86Config file.

I've formatted and started again
