How can I tell my current IP address? (DCHP assigned)

I thought this would be such a simple thing!

The ifconfig utility can be used to display the currently active network configuration and status using the following:


The data displayed depend on the configuration of your system.

For more details use:

man ifconfig

I could have sworn that I tried that earlier and couldn't get the address.
