How can I mount my external hard drive to save data on my windows based pc?

Hello everyone,
I`m an absolute linux newbie and need (not only some) help to mount my external hard drive in order to save my datas from my AMD Athlon (tm) IIX2 I saved on Windows XP 64. I copied an image of knoppix 6.7 and was able to boot my pc via disc. I already found my datas in the file manager/sda 2/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Desktop and now wanted to copy these datas (music/pics/etc.) on my external hard drive. Please can somebody tell me how to do this step by step, coz other descriptions I found were not working for me. Thx in advance!

Well, upon connecting the external hard drive you should see it appear in the file manager along the other partitions you see there...

Hi:
1. Open your music folder and select all.
2. To select all click on the first music file you want to copy or cut than from there hold down the Ctrl and keep it held down while you left click each file you want.
3. Once all files are highlighted hold down Ctrl+c to copy and than take your mouse pointer to your external and open the file on your external that you want to put those files in and hold down Ctrl+v and that will place all your files in that area/file.

Copy or Cut (it's up to you, but I would copy) all and paste to your external hard drive.
Do the same process for you pictures and etc....

Hope this helps-
