How can i install my Modem Driver and a new connection in linux redhat 8.0. My Modem Name and driver Name is
"CONEXANT"
RH56D/SP-PCI
R6795-11
F23008.5
0013 MEXICO

Unfortunately softmodems or winmodems are very hard to get to work properly under linux.
There is no good free driver available for them, although you can use a 14kbps test driver from linuxant before you decide to buy their full 56k driver.
My advice is you save yourself some trouble and the (in my opinion) waste of money on the driver and buy an external serial modem. The difference in price is not going to be very much (I believe the linuxant driver costs $15 and a serial modem can be had for about $30) but the performance will be better and it'smuch easier to set up.
