how can I install Debian from the mounted CD-Rom image.
I am trying to install debian woody on my laptop
I have already booted from a usb floppy drive and mounted the first installation CD. now I want to install woody in the installer from the mounted cdrom image but I can't.there is an error message says the installation program couldn't find any directory containing the files rescue.bin,bf2.4/drivers.tgz. |
1.) Did the installer start?
2.) Did you type in: setup? 3.) Did the errors come after mount? 4.) If so, is the CD burned correctly and is a stable woody version? --Abid Kazmi |
thank you very much I have already installed it now.

Can you just explain what you did so this thread can be closed.

yes I downloaded the kernel image and base system onto my harddrive partition.and installed them under the debian installer.
then I reboot the system and was led to the apt-get step.I changed to console 2 and mounted the .iso image into /cdrom directory.and installed woody from there. thank you. |
Thanks alot for explaining and have fun! =)
