how can i get widescreen resolution 1280*800 in mandriva??


i have dell laptop inspiron 1300 and i can't get the widescreen resolution...i've choosen the 1280*800 resolution from the control centre but still not widescreen!!
i've searched and found something called 915resolution file and installed it ...and now...what to do??

Does the laptop have an Intel video card?
