Pay for it and contact Red Hat for support, that's how.

Read the "Question Guidelines" link in my posting signature. We have no idea what you mean by "redhat linux" (version???), what kind of hardware, what you mean by "booting options", black screen, etc. Describe what you're asking and post details, and we may be able to help.

Otherwise, as jsbjsb001 said; call Red Hat support.

I don't mean to doubt your abilities TB0ne, but I'll bet London to a brick the OP isn't paying for it. It's sad that people expect us to support a Linux distro that already has paid support available for it. I wouldn't be waiting for people on a Linux forum to respond if I were paying for it - I'd just call Red Hat if I couldn't work it out myself.

Members please note that it is not the responsibility of LQ to ensure people have a paid subscription, if they are in fact, using RHEL.

RedHat has a free distribution in Fedora, and RHEL can be downloaded as a developer version.

General Linux questions, even for RHEL, are perfectly fine.

Paid subscription RHEL users have an official support avenue open to them and I personally would recommend they use it to ensure their servers are properly maintained.

At this juncture it is difficult to ascertain what the OP's issue is and I would suggest following up on TB0ne's request for additional information.

Quite true, and I would as well. And not meaning to argue with you at all (because I totally agree with the sentiment), but RHEL is free to use. You CAN load it and use it for free. Understand asking a question about it, in that respect. Why people would actually **do this** is beyond me, though, when you can load CentOS and have an identical system that DOES get updates/patches/fixes, and the 'free' RHEL won't. Loading RHEL without support isn't a good thing, in my opinion.

That said, the OP hasn't provided any details that would even let us guess as to the nature of the problem/issue, much less offer up a meaningful solution.

As others said, you have to explain your problem better.

However, assuming you mean Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, you should see boot options for a few seconds before the default option is booted. If not, you have to modify your /etc/default/grub.

If it’s the screen colour that bothers you, use the BACKGROUND or THEME setting in /etc/default/grub.

If you want no black screen at all, you have to check if your Bootrom allows you to change what’s displayed on the screen.
