How can i get a linux that I can use my WMP54GS Linksys WiFi Router

I currently use windows, and I'd like a setup where I can run War Rock (, be able to connect to the internet using a Linksys Wireless-G PCI Network Adapter with SpeedBooster, and I'd like it to be free. I'm a total noob at Linux, so I need extremely detailed instructions =). If I need to post my system specs or whatever, let me know. This computer is about 2-3 years old, but it's still pretty fast. Please help, as I'd really like to get into linux, but without internet, I really have no interest =P.

BTW, plz keep in mind that I have never used Linux before, and I have never had to do anything with a command prompt type interface. Thanks, and sorry for double post.

Don't assume that someone will respond immediately to questions....

I don't know why the flavor of Linux would matter with a router. The interface is generic----Set the basic parameters and it should be fine.

I have had 10 different distros on my home machine and connecting to the internet (thru a router) has never been an issue.

Does War Rock run on Linux? If so, the site will tell you if any particular distro is preferred.
