You have to boot in "single" mode for that. You need to get to the boot line of your boot loader - what are you using?

Just what is it you are trying to do and what distro are you using?

What do you mean by bypass?

Do you want to boot directly to the desktop without logging in as a user with a password?

Do you want to be able to use the bash shell in a terminal without using a password, that is, to have immediate root privileges in a terminal?

Do you wish to be able to log in without using the assigned login and password, that is, bypassing them with the ability to change the user and root password?

What distribution are you using and what exactly do you want to do?

trying to bypass the linux bash login screen

Do you wish to be able to log in without using the assigned login and password, that is, bypassing them with the ability to change the user and root password? That is exactly what i want to do
But my problem is i dont have the password to access linux bash and im also not able to login as root because of the login screen. I need to be able to get a root login but before i can i first need to reset the root password and without using a cdrom to boot from. So if you could give me a few ideas i would realy appreciate it.
