Thanks wpn146, i took your advice and booted from fedora install cd to recue mode and installed grub onto /dev/hda for my laptop after i reinstalled XP and it worked flawlessly. Well i didnt use smart boot manager, but i forgot about the grub-install command until you reminded me. Actually, i thank everyone that replied. I learn something new everyday, and dumb questions are only dumb when you get a dumb answer and to me, all the answers and replies were informative. Ok, enough prasing and nerdiness. Just plain THANKS!!!
