How can get my iPod to charge from Eee PC?

I love my Eee PC, & am stumbling my way through some of the simpler Linux stuff, but still haven't figured out how to install iTunes, so I can charge my iPod. Or if there's another way to get it to charge without iTunes. I believe my Eee has Xandros by default.

Thanks!

You don't need itunes to charge your iPod, just a powered USB socket. My eee701 supplies power to the USB ports all the time it is connected to its charger, even if the PC itself is off. This is useful.

itunes will not run under the xandros OS, you either need windows, or need to install a different distro which can run amarok.

Amarok works well with ipods.

You'll find lots of help for the eee here: http://forum.eeeuser.com/
and here: http://wiki.eeeuser.com/

Not many people stick with the original xandros OS, my 701 is happily running kubuntu 8.04 (The HOWTO is on the eeeuser wiki).

Enjoy your new "toy" and welcome to LQ!

I have just taken another look at the eee wiki - you can use your ipod with the default xandros OS, but you have to install some extra stuff. Here's the link: http://wiki.eeeuser.com/ipodandtheeee

i use " gtkpod" for "burning" songs to mine and i use rhythmbox to play those files
rhythmbox auto detects the ipod and adds it to the menu
