How & where to put script?
 
I need to add "hdparm -d 1 /dev/hdc" to my startup files in suse 9.0 pro. This is to set DMA to "on" for DVD playback on my laptop. Works great when I enter it from root, but, want suse to do it automatically. I'm too noob to know where it goes or how I enter & save it!

You could start up Yast and enable DMA there.
It's in Hardware > IDE DMA Mode
