Are you running a 64 bit or 32 bit Ubuntu?

If you are in Firefox, you should be able to just click "install missing plugin" and it will install flash.

PS: Better post titles would be appreciated.

BBC video is seen well by linux with Adobe. Google with "Restricted Formats Ubuntu 8.10" gave this among others. http://ubuntuexperiment.wordpress.co...on-ubuntu-810/ I assume that this is after connection to all of the repositories. This is the installation from the start. It seems to be a clear and complete guide with all the media players. http://www.howtoforge.com/the-perfec...op-ubuntu-8.10. Remember the GIMP.
