Hostname to linux machines

Hi. I am a beginner to linux and got stuck. I have two virtual machines in VMware with redhat OS. I have assignes IP address to each machine, i dont know how to specify the hostname/domain name. Can someone please guide.

go to /etc/sysconfig/network to edit hostname, then reboot.

for temporary results say
hostname pcname.domainname
check the result by just typing hostname -fqdn after that.
For making the name persistent across multiple bootups .....
sysctl kernel.hostname=pcname.domainname
or you could make the changes in the
/etc/sysconfig/network file HOSTNAME parameter
