hostname keeps changing

hi,

i'm using slackware 7.1 kernel 2.4.27
i dunno why but the hostname keeps changing... here's my /etc/hosts:
127.0.0.1 localhost
10.0.0.151 slackserver

everytime i boot, i keeps changing to other name than that.
help anybody?

You need to edit /etc/HOSTNAME.

hostname <newhostname>

And you should really think about upgrading your Slackware, unless you've been maintaining it with -current as it's about 5 years outdated now.

I'll update it soon, but you know what they say, as long as the system works just fine, why change?
